What are you willing to do to get better?

My thoughts (kinda like a book report). I have been reading a lot lately and I included some links to what I've been reading below.

3/4 of Earths human population ingest scarcely enough nutrients to prevent pandemic disease - what's worse is people in America and Europe, where proper foods for a healthy diet and supplements are cheap and readily available: we're apathetic about it. Mentality and health are so tightly related that it is no wonder why we are apathetic about it. And while there is no good reason for why we buy and eat processed, prepackaged, and manufactured food, conflicting of all scientific proof, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and world governments do not prohibit the manufacturing of this "junk food". The FDA is the association that sets the standards for health, and determines what is legal and illegal, and what can be sold and bought. The FDA sets the Recommended Daily Amounts of all foods, this is the Nutrition Facts you see on every food package. Can you ever recall electing the FDA members to these high and important positions? Our elected government appoints them. Once appointed to the FDA these "officials" (doctors usually M.D.s) take regular payouts from the Drug Manufacturers (the Pharmaceutical Companies) to keep quite, overlook facts, and with haste they pass (legalize) drugs for doctors to prescribe for every problem known to man physical and psychological. The prescriptions are paid for by the insurance companies who demand high premiums (the size of car payments) which you and your employer share.

And all of this can be avoided by eating like our ancestors before us: large amounts of fresh raw (uncooked) foods and foods high in ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Humans are the only mammals who do not produce Vitamin C in our liver. All other mammals do produce Vitamin C in their liver. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is what is used by bodies to fight off diseases (stresses) of natural life. 100 years ago (1912) doctors discovered that only 250mg (the amount in one tangerine) a day of Vitamin C is enough to prevent scurvy, pneumonia, and colds.

Scurvy was the lateest pandemic feared by all people, in your grandparents parents lifetime, and it was stopped by Vitamin C. In our lifetime we fear Cancer and AIDS as bad as they feared Scurvy. 2/3 of the population of modern developed countries get less than 1,000mg of Vitamin C a day. The FDA would like to ignore studies over the last 50 years that have shown people with cancer, AIDS, every variation of Hepatitis, and many other diseases, have been healed by taking 50,000 to 100,000mg of Vitamin C a day. The amazing thing is they only needed to take that much until the disease was gone and they felt better.

To underline how cheap and readily available Vitamin C is: I just bought a bottle of 100 1,000mg tablets at Walgreen for $6. Actually, I got two bottles for $6. They were on sales for buy one get on free!

In the last 2 weeks, I have been taking large doses of all the Vitamins A-K and also a multivitamin 3 times a day. By day two I began feeling better and better and the next day is better than the one before it. I don't get headaches, I sleep really good. I don't get tired in the middle of the day and want a nap. I have energy like a 10 year old. My mind is sharper, and I have had some great ideas to implement in my business. Oh I poop easier too!

My personal viewpoint:

We should each strive to take in 10,000mg of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) daily. We should each take a multivitamin with every meal. If you're depressed, have lack of energy or on "the pill" (oral contraceptive) take extra of all the Vitamin Bs. You should read everything you can about eating healthy natural foods from books and websites written from unbiased perspectives.

Don't believe doctors when they tell you healthy eating and vitamin supplements "aren't enough" because they don't even know how much is enough, Don't trust anything doctors give you in a bottle or needle, because it won't be vitamins. Try to encourage your doctor to eat healthy and take vitamin supplemints, or at least encourage them to reconsider what being a doctor actually means: Is it about being the M.D. in the white coat, or is it about really helping people get well?

Friday night Coffee and Music - A talent in the rough

Friday night Melissa wanted to go see her friend Ellis Moore play at some local place in Redding.  He was really good, but I'll get to that in a moment.  First that night we stopped by YAKS for a quick coffee to take to the show because there was not going to be any coffee where Ellis was doing his songs.  I had a black coffee and Melissa got a mocha. Both our drinks turned out bad.  My cup disintegrated on our short trip to see Ellis and they put foam in her mocha, a lot of foam, and it sunk to about a 3/4 full cup a minute after we left. This is just not YAKS usual quality so after we left where Ellis played we went back to YAKS and they treated us to better coffees.  I think the problem with my coffee is that the coffee was so hot it melted the glue holding the cup together and then just started leaking everywhere while destroying the integrity of the paper cup.

Ellis Moore is a talented young guitar player singer songwriter.  I was glad to see another guy out there who appears to not have been infected by the creatively paralyzed  engineered corporate rock sound that seems to be all over American radio and television. He writes his own songs performs a few covers and can do almost any Dave Matthews song you can request, and what really comes across is his genuine honesty and pure voice.  Ellis played acoustic guitar and sang unaccompanied by another musician.  I bet he loves folk music too, he wore a brown hooded sweatshirt with a micro brewery company's logo, blue jeans and flip flops.  A few of his friends cam out to see him and I'd say he was pretty well appreciated and loved by his fans who were mostly his peers.

The only problem with the performance was the location it took place, Senor Rosas.  A Mexican restaurant, What?  I had never been to Senor Rosas in Redding, and when MJ told me he would be playing there I had to ask if she was serious.  After this experience we ask, Why would anyone play acoustic rock/folk music at a place like this?  It is a tiny, Mexican restaurant.  No one that came to see Ellis play even bought any food.  They people who worked there continually talked loud, let their kid run loose and squeal and let their friends hang out and be loud and eat drink and smoke for the most part they were acting oblivious to the honorable talent that was on display in their hole in the wall restaurant.  It was very hard to hear Ellis and even make out what he was doing at some times.  The child squealing was never told to be quiet.  I felt Ellis was distressed about the atmosphere though he did not show it and the people who came to see him play were more obviously annoyed by all the distraction.  On the wall in the building is a sign that reads, "Live Music every Friday Night".  I guess the Mariachi band finally had had enough.  I can't say anything for their food thought.  No one offered me any.  And I sure didn't feel like ordering while I was there.

It would be nice if Redding had more coffee shops, and cool places that stayed open late that were the right environment for musicians.  I don't think there is a lack of talent.  There is however,  a serious lack of appreciation and proper treatment of musical talent.  I wish we had more porches and stoops filled with musicians playing together in the warm midnight air.

YAKS Coffee so yummy

This is me at YAKS coffee in Redding, CA one of my favorite places to go to have a coffee, mocha, or blended freeze and to work on my computer.  At YAKS you can bring your laptop and take advantage of their wireless internet hotspot.  It is one of the best places to catch some free high speed internet and they serve up some of the best coffee.

YAKS has done a little rearranging of the furniture lately and they have added a coffee roaster.  They are going to start roasting their own coffee beans.   These pictures were taken with my cells phone.

Update on Life

Well I have been a very busy guy. I just got married 5 months ago and things are going pretty good. I have not blogged here in a while. I am still working for my parents business promoting the exciting revolutionary new tool for music theory called The Guitar Wheel. I am also beginning to build websites as a side business. I feel I did pretty good on the Guitar Wheel website. Check out www.prowebpublisher.com to see a bunch more websites I have created. If you would like me to create a professional website for your business please check out ProWebPublier.com to see sample websites I have designed, I can custom build a website for you and have it online very fast. Contact me before you buy a domain name and I can save you a bundle of cash.

Melissa and I have created a website together. She contributed all the writing and she helped me design the website too. Check out www.EnglishLiteratureNotes.com for helpful articles and study aids on grammar, parts of speech, writing, poetry, and many essays on Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre. There is really a lot there. It should be a great resource for students. She is still in school working towards being a high school English teacher.

Dana wrote an E-book called "How to Groom You Dog Like a Groomer". Read it for free on her website www.petownersgroomshop.com has articles and tips on do it yourself dog grooming. Read what about what clippers, shampoos, and brushes to use, and get tips on dog grooming and bathing, disciplining and taking care of your pet. The website has lot of pictures of dogs she has groomed. PetOwnersGroomShop.com serves as her website for her shop Puppy Love Grooming located near S. Churn Creek Road in Redding, CA.

Hey well that was fun blogging again and plugging our websites here with some great keywords for the search engines to pick up on. Sorry it was a bit dull to read. I do not blog so much anymore because I don't have the time. Begin married and working full time and doing everything else makes my life pretty full and enjoyable. Would love to hear your comments about the websites though or maybe just to say hi. Thanks all.

So I feel like blogging...

At last, I am blogging. While MJ is out of town for a week I am trying to use my time wisely to get a lot of things done. Interesting how life changes when you plan to marry someone. Priorities shift and the time seems like it goes out the window.

When you are alone you feel like you are the only one pursuing God. I think a lot of people are feeling loneliness. You can feel lonely even when you have somebody. That is why it is so crucial to have friends that want God more than you do. It forces you out of looking inward all the time, or it will just force you farther from those friends. i have been on both sides of that. I think right now I am realizing I need people to strengthen myself in the Lord. Now more than ever. Where are you? Come find me. Ask me questions. We all co-exist but how much do we really know each other? Jesus got lonely, and He was perfect. I feel like talking to Him will make everything better.

If you would say it to a friend...

Say it to God. You guys (myself included because God is dealing with me on this too), WE NEED TO PRAY MORE! If you could sit and tell it to a friend you could sit and pray to God about it. Whatever it is. Prayerlessness is sinful.

Luke 18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually;

Bottom line, and please don't assume you know the bottom line already, we need to pray more. Because prayer is not just talking to God in the tone and with the same words you would use with a friend. When you pray to God you should listen also. Open your heart to be able to hear things that might make you uncomfortable. The Lord speaks gently and sweetly when you listen, his voice is peace. When you are talking to God you won't let yourself get away with saying things that aren't true. Think about it. When we are just thinking thoughts to ourself we think and believe all kinds of things that enter our head that aren't true. Think of praying as thinking to God with a super lie detector attached to your brain. Our hearts desire truth. We want truth in order to have peace at night when we sleep. Think with God. Be imitators of God. Meditate on scriptures in the Bible.

We need a revelation of God. We need a revelation of the knowledge of God, of just who He is. His love, not ours. We need to shut up more and pray more. I'm talking of a secret life of prayer. Don't pray long prayers with big words in front of people to impress them.

Our flesh should crawl when we pray. Our nature hates to pray. It is the least pleasing thing to our natural state of mind. That is why we resist it. So do as Paul said, beat your flesh into submission to God in the order of getting a prayer life.

People if we do not press through in this lifestyle I am afraid of the type of lifestyle that we will find ourselves in by default for lack of prayer in our life. If you want a life following Christ and living for Him, for the Gospel you and I would do as Christ!

For future notice, if you hear me muttering to myself often, or yelling in the other room - I'm praying. Join me!

Look up other scripture and think on it. Don't you think we'd enjoy life more if we had oneness with God?

MJ and I just had an experience where a couple things were burdening our thoughts all day. i said we should pray. We prayed out loud talking turns for about 15 min. It completely turned
our attitudes around and a situation that day worked out really good because of prayer.

Here is a random recent photo of MJ and me. I like how we are matching in our warm coats.
